Hi, I am a grandfather of four beautiful Grandchildren, I have one son and three daughters, We lost Vickie to Cancer in December 2013, she was 23 years old, whoever said time heals haven't lost a child. My profile picture is of Vickie and I haven't changed it since she died, I have a wonderful loving wife without whom I would not have made it through. My escape is writing poetry, I have had five published to date, I now have two books published 'World War One In Verse' is available on Amazon books and 'Poetry From The Heart' is available on Amazon or Feed a Read, just enter the title and my name Eric Harvey. If you love the 50's, 60.s and 70's my new book of poems will take you back to those days, 'A Poetic Trip Along Memory Lane' will jog your memories of bygone days. -

Should wearing a face mask be compulsory in shops?The problem in the Uk today is that most people think that it's all over, we don't get daily bulletins any more, the Government are as close to complacency as you can get regarding the opening of different areas and places, they seem to be forever 'jumping the gun' and pushing the limits, the problem is - how far do you trust what we are being told? In quite a few places in England the 'R' rate is back up to 1%, what did all those NHS die for or risk their lives for? The compulsory wearing of masks should be made law wherever you are outside your own home, even if it is only respect for those who gave and lost their lives.ViewDate:

Do you feel that freedom of speech is becoming restricted in the UK?Freedom of speech in the UK has been on a steady decline sice the late sixties, Homesexuality was rightly legalised in 1967, everyone should be able to live their life how they want to, but slowly and surely those of us who welcomed the change of law back then, now have to sit and watch it flaunted on our TV sets, I was sat with my three year old Grandson at 7.10 pm one evening when two lads in a popular soap were in bed kissing, My Grandson asked if they were allowed to do that, it shouldn't be like that today, what happened to the 9.00pm watershed? My point is that if we complain about it we are immediately labelled 'homophobic', there is no argument or discussion, that is it, no more to say. It is the same with the BLM movement, as soon as we are outraged at the things they get up to - like - damaging statues etc we are labelled racist, so yes, we have lost the freedom of speech in our own country, yet others have gained it. -
