Christmas Dream
The fire burns brightly, logs crackling merrily
The Christmas tree glitters and the candles glow.
Outside the snow falls covering the land
And the birds in their trees sleep under their wings.
Children peek out from under their covers
Hoping to see Santa this night.
Heavy eyes close as they drift off to sleep
Dreaming of Santa and the gifts that he’ll bring.
Morning arrives and excitement abounds
As they run down the stairs to see what Santa has brought.
Laughter abounds as they open their presents.
Mum and dad smile to see their joy.
Family arrive to hugs and kisses
Carols play softly as they sit down to dine.
Crackers pulled and silly jokes read.
Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year.
