Life

It’s a dazzling day, the sun high in the sky.
I kick off my shoes and run on the sand.
I paddle my feet and run from the waves
Laughing out loud, not a care in the world.
I am not a child, but a woman full grown,
I’ve had traumas in life and lived through them all.
I greet each day as a day to be lived.
I will love being me to the end of my days.
