Do you know of any cars that are suitable for lower back pain sufferers?

Any one had experience of buying the right car to alleviate the problem of getting in and out? From my own experiences the higher the seating the better and some vehicles apparently have height adjustments, but these all seem to be Tonka Toys. Any smaller ones around ?

VIKING - go'dag, go'dag and yes I'd have to agree with you. I don't drive so when my geezer bought a land rover I LUVED IT...it's soooo nice getting in and out.
Also I wish we had 'suicide doors' (somebody told me they were called that. Like the old James Cagney films. But if you have a sore back, perhaps get it fixed...xx hilsen Barb

I know it's a bit late to answer now, but get yourself a Backfriend. They are wonderful for bad back pain. When my back was bad I still used to drive miles, but only with the backfriend.

I think its worth trying various cars to see which suit. Unfortunately its the more expensive models that have the better suspension and padding in seats. I myself have a Mercedes E Class and that gives me good padding, heat and a lumbar support which makes things better, Also think about an automatic gearbox as this eliminates any jerking whilst moving off or overtaking

My wife has suffered lower back pain as long as I have known her. She recently changed to a Ford B-max automatic and this has made a big difference.

We run a Volvo XC60 which has excellent support and is very easy to get in and out off. Previously we run an old style CRV (pre 2007) which was also great but the new style is not good which is why we went for the Volvo. We also run a BMW series 3 for fun and we find that is also excellent but you need the top of the range with full lumbar support and seat memory.

My Honda Jazz has a height adjustable drivers seat. But I also use a lumbar roll to support my back which works well.
