The Elephant
The Elephant
I’m sure the elephant winked at me and when
I looked he winked again.
He held his trunk up high and
I’m sure I heard him laugh.
He stamped his foot and made such a noise.
Then there I was on his back.
Up so high I could touch the sky.
Oh my, what was I to do.
He walked through the jungle and I
held on tight and then you’d never believe,
What he next did,
He talked to me in elephant speak
And low and behold I knew every word.
He told me of many wondrous things
And of all the animals that he knew.
But then he said he had to go and he bowed his
head and said goodbye.
I cried a tear and he did too but
He said he would always remember me
As an elephant never forgets.
