Alvaston Hall – Cheshire
A Grade II-listed Cheshire getaway, surrounded by award-winning gardens and near the peaceful riverside town of Nantwich.
With thousands of years of history dating back to when it was the home of a Saxon farmer named Aelfgar, this country house hotel is packed with charm. As well as its notable past, you can also enjoy a pin-drop peaceful setting. The surrounding area consists of wide-open, lush green spaces and is proud to be one of England’s most beautiful sights. This Grade I listed mansion was completed way back in 1674 and was reportedly visited by King Charles I, and William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, who held cabinet meetings in the gardens. Built in the mid-1500s, this beautiful Grade I listed Tudor manor has a truly unique story. History is literally on your doorstep with the stunning location having played host to occupying Romans, a Tudor tryst and even a Civil War army.
