Go on holiday for the day!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful lunchtime visit to The Hut in Colwell Bay on the beautiful Isle of Wight, and it was an experience that left me thoroughly impressed and eager to return.

From the moment I set foot in this idyllic location, I knew I was in for a memorable culinary adventure.

The Hut is a true gem nestled along the stunning coastline of Colwell Bay, offering a unique dining experience that seamlessly blends seaside charm with gourmet sophistication. As I approached the restaurant, the picturesque views of the sparkling turquoise waters and golden sands immediately set the tone for what would be a remarkable afternoon.

Upon entering The Hut, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The beachy decor, complete with driftwood accents and comfortable seating, created a relaxed yet stylish ambiance that perfectly complemented the coastal setting. The open-air seating area allowed me to soak in the fresh sea breeze and savor the panoramic views of the bay while indulging in my meal.

The service at The Hut was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made me feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the food – an absolute highlight of my visit. The Hut’s menu is a culinary masterpiece, featuring a delightful array of seafood dishes and other delectable options. I opted for the tacos – Asian Pork Belly and & Prawn Tempura with Fresh Mango Salsa, a dish bursting with flavours, and it was nothing short of exquisite. The freshness of the prawns combined with succulent pork left my taste buds dancing with delight. The presentation was also impeccable, and I am a great believer that you eat with your eyes.

To accompany my meal, I enjoyed a crisp glass of chilled Exton Park Sparkling Rosé, locally sourced from Hampshire, which the staff recommended and paired expertly with my dish.

To follow I had Crispy Duck Salad – Hoi Sin, Watermelon, Cashews – once again this dish was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented.  My friend opted for the Steak Tartare which was also beautifully presented and equally delicious.

It was evident that The Hut takes great pride in curating a well-rounded dining experience that showcases the best of the Isle of Wight’s culinary offerings.

As I savoured every last bite of my meal I couldn’t help but appreciate the overall experience that The Hut provided. The combination of outstanding food, breathtaking scenery, and exceptional service makes it a must-visit destination for anyone on the Isle of Wight.

My lunchtime visit to The Hut in Colwell Bay was a truly unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived until the moment I reluctantly left, I was treated to a delightful feast for the senses. The Hut is not just a restaurant; it’s a destination that encapsulates the essence of coastal dining and the beauty of the Isle of Wight. I can’t wait to return and savour more of their culinary delights in the future.
