Would you be happy to give or receive a pre-loved gift for Christmas?
With the festive season fast approaching now is the time to get searching for the perfect gifts for your loved ones. But have you considered buying pre-loved?
Choosing a pre-loved gift is more responsible than buying brand-new, could save much-needed resources for our planet and as the cost-of-living crisis starts to bite pre-loved gifts are generally easier on the pocket too.
Research just in from Shopiago ECommerce, the company that helps Charities take their donated items and quickly list them online, tells us that a record 20.8 million UK adults are now considering pre-loved Christmas gifts.
Vintage homeware, jewellery, artwork and books all make lovely gifts – 98% of people have said they would be happy to receive a preloved book for Christmas.
Alongside the usual charity shops buy online from places like Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and Ebay.
And if you don’t fancy going entirely second hand then try pairing your pre-loved find with something new to make the perfect gift. Such as coupling a book with a retro cashmere jumper or a bottle of red with a vintage wine decanter.
Will you be making pre-loved your first choice this year?
