Just when we thought it was time to put away our coats and winter woolies, temperatures have plummeted again, and in true British style, everyone is talking about the weather and how cold it is!
The Met Office said overall April was warmer and drier than average, but temperatures fell as the month went on, with frosts and even snow in some areas.
The unexpected cold nights are said to be the worst seen by winemakers for the last 20 years. Frost damaged vines in vineyards across Kent and Sussex mean that the harvest will likely be delayed for a year.
Gardeners will have noticed that some spring shrubs have been knocked back by the frosts, coupled with the extremely dry conditions too, this makes for a challenging time in the garden.
