Would James Norton get your vote to be the next James Bond?

James Bond enthusiasts believe they’ve uncovered a significant clue suggesting that British actor James Norton could be the next 007.

The 39-year-old Happy Valley star is reportedly in contention alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Idris Elba as the search continues for Daniel Craig’s successor.

While the official announcement of the new Bond is yet to be made, fans are convinced they’ve spotted a major hint.

Norton is currently starring in ITV’s drama Playing Nice, which follows two couples whose lives are upended after discovering their toddlers were unknowingly swapped at birth. In the third episode, a particular scene has sparked speculation. Norton’s character, Peter, attends a gala, where he is notably the only man not dressed in a tuxedo.

One fan highlighted the moment, saying, “James Norton has long been rumored as the next James Bond. Every actor who takes on the role of Bond reportedly has a clause in their contract prohibiting them from wearing a tuxedo in any other media while they play the character.”

They continued, “In Playing Nice, during the gala scene, every man in the room is in a tuxedo—except for James Norton, who is wearing a standard suit. If he’s already signed the Bond contract, this could be why.”

Fans are left wondering if this wardrobe choice is a subtle nod to Norton’s potential future as 007.

What are your views? Would you like to see James Norton play the next James Bond? Or is there another actor you would like to be chosen for the role?
