The first televised debate of the General Election campaign took place last night between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.
Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer traded blows on the economy and the NHS as they faced off in the first TV debate of the 2024 election campaign.
Snap verdicts following the debate marginally brightened the PM’s hopes, with YouGov polling showing 51% of people thought he performed best overall during the show, as compared with 49% voting for Sir Keir.
