Hi all, I am a 66yr old - live in a quiet area of Scotland - I was a nurse for 35yrs - and sadly lost my husband 43yrs -5yrs ago, just at retirement - I was his carer till he passed, I now still have my mum who is 93yrs, so not much opportunity to pursue anything personally - thought it would be good to meet some likeminded friends here just for a chat - Mollymar

Hi Mollymar

Welcome to the site, Hopefully you will get a few messages, I am a 76 year old, I lost my wife 12 years ago after 40 years of marriage, Hopefully you are at a stage now in your life where you feel the need to continue to make the best of everyday, My wife and I enjoyed ballroom dancing, so suddenly when she passed like everybody in our position it leaves a terrible void to fill, I was lucky that where I live in Leicester in the East Midlands there are a few dance schools and I found ladies to carry on with my dancing.
Hopefully you can navigate round this site it can get a little confusing.

Hi Bassmankyu

Thanks for the welcome - sounds like you live in quite a social area, we do have a few things going on but I haven't found anything yet that I would like to do - we have highland dancing which is not really my thing !!!! and you are so right the void that we have is so hard to fill, enjoy your dancing
Will keep positive

Thanks for the reply mollymar,

I have found that we all need that connection with others even if only to chat on sites like Silver Surfers, Its interesting you should say that I live in a social area, even here in a big city it can still be quite lonely at times but it does force you to get out and socialise, and glad that you will keep positive.
