Good day!

I am new to Silversurfers today. I do need to spend some time learning my way around the site. There seems to be a lot to investigate, learn, and enjoy. I am looking forward to making some new pen-pal friends. I'm 62, live in NW PA. I have a variety of interests from gardening, fitness, and health, reading, baking, tending to the many birds, chipmunks, and squirrels in our yard, my 10-year-old Chihuahua, taking online classes, and helping others.

Have a pleasant day and I do hope to bump into some of you along my way here.

Hi everyone I’m new here .Have just found this site. Need to get something off my chest at these difficult times .I came to live with my family. .As did the first lockdown for 4 months not seeing my family friends. Being an out going lady and very social .I found it very difficult as had just moved.as well. Not seeing anyone for 4 months. So it seemed a good idea to move in with family. I’ve a grandchild whose a teenager . As much as I ask can my grandchild to wash your hands when coming home from school .As I’m at risk. In my 70s .. The answer is a No .I don’t hug or touch . I help in the home a lot and do the washing ironing cook wash up .Help. there is just the 3 of us here . As teenagers do get close at school regardless of the safety issue. Because of the lack of care to me in this way, I feel very vulnerable. My Grandchild is highly intelligent but with a terrible temper, . I’ve tried talking about this . I’m told not to fuss . . In no uncertain terms . I’m unable to talk to anyone about this ? So forgive my first comment on here about me x

Thank you Sally I wasn’t thinking when I put all this on your amazing site found it by chance .Having no one to talk things over with . No I haven’t looked what’s available but will do so . I’m still able to find my way round most things still. Thankfully xx I will return to write maybe answer a few messages when if I can be of help or just pen friending. Thank you Best wishes Annyn46
Response from Niftychat made on 4th Apr 2021 23:42:11 > @Annyn46
Hi Annyn, lovely idea to move in with family throughout Covid, but I think everyone worldwide are getting frustrated now. We as humans from democratic countries, are not used to being restricted. Teenagers are definitely fed up with Covid, so in some ways social media and peer pressure from friends may not be helping him. You should have had your vaccine now shouldn't you? That will give you some piece of mind.
Keep strong things can only get better x
Response from Annyn46 made on 6th Jun 2021 09:28:45 > @Niftychat
Apologies Niftychat for not answering , moving ; pandemic : lost passwords etc . Asked for help etc . Hopefully I can answer now ? Will try . Hope your well. Life hasn’t been to stressful . We hope with the vaccinations we will be able to move around . Visit family friends etc . With the Indian Varient DOESNT look so good. Sadly Flights from India were still coming in ten A day . So what do the Goverment expect . From 4 people with it it’s now up in the 1;000s . I’m not political just well read . Not news papers either . A lot of it is rubbish news anyway. The sun is finally out . Which makes all of us smile . We hope to have more of the same . I live down South so not far from the beach . I go when the crowds have gone xx I can’t wait for my yearly swim in the sea nothing like it xx Has to warm up a little bit more yet . I hope life wherever it is has started to become a bit better for you and yours .As mine has in the last few weeks . Best wishes Annyn46. Apologies once again for delay in messaging .

Yip Fife has many nice small villages. Spent a few weekends in Methil when young cos had family there. Not the prettiest of places but we had fun. Most family holidays were in Arbroath cos closer family there. It seemed like we were in the bus for absolutely ages ..now we can drive in half an hour. I’ve been to quite a number of places across Scotland. Glencoe is especially nice. I like Pitlochry. Went for a few days last October - mid semi lock down - but it wasn’t much fun. Had to drink outside and although we could eat inside our own hotel if we wanted to go somewhere else we had to eat outside. Food was cold before we got half way through. Looking forward for a few days away when things are back on track.

Whoa, i actually found your reply which surprises me on this maze. How you doing with COVID. Nice to see things get a little better. Was out last night with sister and her husband for a meal and it was nice but it did feel a little weird. Still we are in a better place than we were last year at this time
Response from Ed30356 made on 23rd May 2021 17:10:43 > @Codymitz
Good that you were able to get out with your sister and husband. Even though we're allowed to go shopping, I really haven't felt the need. I have to say that I've used online shopping more and more and like the convenience - not that it does much for local businesses!
Apart from being extra careful, covid restrictions haven't affected me that much. I try to go to the supermarket during quieter times and make sure I use plenty of hand sanitiser.
Good to hear from you.
Response from Codymitz made on 23rd May 2021 17:52:27
Gosh, found you again. Must be getting the hang of it :). I do quite a lot if on line shopping. I live in a top floor flat and it saves me having to lug all the routine stuff up all the stairs every month. Nil to local shops for the everyday items though Have been doing a lot more Amazon stuff over past year although thankfully it’s slowed down a bit !!!! It’s just so convenient but like you say, we then moan when the high street shops shut. Only got ourselves to blame
I’m not sure but I think these comments go out to everyone (not that I mind) but I’m seen. ‘Chat’ section so I’m going to see if I can drop you a note there. Just to test out. Hope you don’t mind I must admit I like to find out how things work
Response from Ed30356 made on 23rd May 2021 18:28:54 > @Codymitz
Well I am now on first name terms with my Amazon and Hermes drivers!
I do think the covid situation is improving - I've certainly had both my jabs. I get a little concerned when I see mass gatherings of football supporters - most of whom looked young to me and probably not vaccinated. Who knows what the outcome of that will be!
Response from Codymitz made on 23rd May 2021 19:19:22 > @Ed30356
Yeh I’ve had both jabs as well so it does lessen the worry quite a bit. My sister had COVID at the end of last year. Works in a hospital so it wasn’t really that’s unexpected although she was really quite ill for about four days. No ongoing effects though. The crowds are really annoying to watch. Something think folk just like to go against the rules...just to prove they can And don’t get me started on those folk at the airports !!!!
Response from Ed30356 made on 23rd May 2021 19:34:24 > @Codymitz
Good that you've had both jabs. Sorry to hear that your sister caught the bug. I think that most people probably did their best to abide by the rules but as you say, there are always those who don't think they apply to them.
Don't think I want to go anywhere near an airport for a while yet!
Response from Morninggliry made on 24th May 2021 08:05:29
What would you like converse about.? I hear that Scotland is gorgeous!
Response from Ed30356 made on 24th May 2021 09:38:50
Hello Morninggliry and nice to hear from you! Scotland is indeed beautiful and I am blessed to be living in a lovely area. I am based just outside Stirling which is in the central belt and equidistant from Edinburgh and Glasgow. I am comfortable talking about anything you like!
Response from Codymitz made on 24th May 2021 11:55:55 > @Morninggliry
Yip, Gotta agree with Ed30356 that Scotland is indeed beautiful. I live in Dundee on the east coast. We have a nice beach although a very cold beach. Many nice places to visit in Scotland whither busy cities or rural countryside
Response from Ed30356 made on 24th May 2021 12:05:47 > @Codymitz
I'm very fond of the East Neuk and spent several family holidays at Elie when I was a wee boy. I took my 94 year old Mum across there 3 weeks ago.
