Welcome and chat anytime I'm on here. I'm pretty new to this forum too. Joined because I rarely get the chance to talk to people except when at the grocery store. I am 59 and retired and spend most of my days gardening or fishing.

Just looking for online friends male or female. Just nice to be able to run things past and get to know any interest? Use to go in chat rooms where you had people from different places and ideas. Very interesting. Respond if you are interested. Not looking for anything but friendships at the moment

Yep me too, just joined. Love my rock music, bet nobody else does on here.
Response from Niceblokie made on 24th Jan 2022 13:06:43
I know, I was joking. For me, it'd be nice to have company at an event.
Response from Niceblokie made on 25th Jan 2022 15:20:45
Love the classic seventies rock bands such as Deep Purple etc. I enjoy nowadays watching tribute bands, hence going to a whole weekend away often.
How about you, what do you like to listen to or watch?
Response from Niceblokie made on 27th Jan 2022 06:25:34
Ooh, some faves of mine there too. Pink Floyd, Stones, Kinks. I was a dinosaur up until recently. Since going to these music events and thanks to Spotify during daily walking from the first lockdown, I've found lots of new fantastic bands.
Response from Niceblokie made on 28th Jan 2022 17:17:53
Yeah, you're link worked. Quite liked the video, good band. No, not been to the Rewind Festival before. Hopefully, I'm going to a hotel based tribute weekend in Southport in March, then in June, out to Lindos for a week of rock music around poolside. Have been a few times, it's like having a holiday but with live music for 7 days as well. Fantastic.
Response from Niceblokie made on 31st Jan 2022 17:42:03
Oh they are very talented musicians for sure. I find with the weekend events, there is always something to look forward to every few months all through the year. Keeps me thinking young at least. Ha ha.
Have you anything planned?

Hi, so tell me about the mountain life. I am new on the site and interested in talking to others,
Response from Safariman made on 7th Nov 2021 13:41:24 > @Jenna123
Hi Jenna123, just read your post on this site, I also love chatting to
others, it is always interesting to hear what other people have been
up to and where they are from, I notice your reply to the mountain
man from the Yukon, are you also from the states or from the UK?
I live in Southampton, so no mountains here but have been up both
Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in my younger days,
Hope that you find lots of people to chat with, sometimes it takes a
while for folk to respond, so dont give up hope, am here if you want
to talk,in the meantime, take care and stay safe, best wishes, Terry.
Response from Jenna123 made on 7th Nov 2021 16:43:35 > @Safariman
Hi Terry, I am from the UK. Yorkshire lass. Lots of green space around where I live although live in a City. Your Mountain escapades sound thrilling. I have never done anything like that. I like Theatre and walking, love being outside. I also like to get involved in Community activity. Since Lockdown I have been wanting to live a fuller life. I love talking to People. I find it very interesting. I always try to stay positive. Yes keep chatting, I will always reply at some time or another.
Response from Safariman made on 7th Nov 2021 17:05:52 > @Jenna123
Hi Jenna, thank you for your reply to my earlier post, as you say it is
nice to have a chat with people from all walks of life. Yes it was great
traveling through Africa, but I have a confession to make I did not
get to the top of Kilimanjaro as the altitude got to me and had to
stop of at one of the base camps. I expect that you have some nice
places to go for walks, I have only been to Yorkshire once, a long
time ago whilst in the Army I was stationed in Catterick for a while.
Not quite the same is it? I love to travel and have been lucky enough
to have been to many countries, most of them in Africa, I love the
wildlife and the different scenary in each new Country. Have you
done any traveling yourself? or do you like to stay local. Well it is
time to get some dinner on, luckily I live on my own so only have
to cook for one. Thank you once again for your reply, and hope that
we can chat again, until then, take care and stay safe, best wishes,
Terry.
Response from Jenna123 made on 7th Nov 2021 18:17:03 > @Safariman
Hi Terry,
hope you enjoyed your dinner. I am ready for my "night out" now just waiting for a lift. I have only travelled to popular holiday destinations, no where far flung or daring. I do like holidays but love my own Country too. It sounds like you have many a tale to tell. Kilimamanjaro escapades for example!
It sounds like you have done many things seen many a sight. That's brilliant. Would love to chat again.
Jenna.
Response from Safariman made on 7th Nov 2021 18:32:05 > @Jenna123
Hi Jenna, yes enjoyed my dinner, pasta with chicken in white sauce
and chopped tomatoes all out of tins except the pasta,am not a great cook but I get by. Hope that you enjoy your night out,I don't go
out much in the evenings now,I have only been here for 7 months so
don't know many people. I live in a one bedroom flat in a retirement
building with 32 flats in it, but I don't see many other residents from
day to day, I am single and have no children, but I do have 4 sisters
and 3 brothers that live not too far away. Well once again have a great night out, look forward to hearing all about it, will talk more
about my travels, but don't want to bore you at this early stage haha
So cheerio for now, Terry.
Response from Jenna123 made on 8th Nov 2021 09:09:31 > @Safariman
Good Morning Terry
Your dinner sounds perfect. Its a pity your flats don't do a Community meet up'to get people together. Maybe you should arrange one!
You have a big family then, that must be good if you all get on!
The night out was good with 2 friends. It was a bit raucous as lots of women there. We did have good seats though. I wore my mask, erring on the side of caution.
Off to work now. I work from home mostly, which is what I am doing today.
Talk Later
Jenna
Response from Safariman made on 8th Nov 2021 10:01:15 > @Jenna123
Morning Jenna, so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your night out,
sounds a bit like a hen night haha. I always wear a face mask when
I use the bus to go into town, and when I go into the shops, we have
a lot of Chinese students that live in accommodation close to here
and they wear masks all the time when they go out.I have had my two vaccinations but am waiting for my booster jab later this month. We do have a lovely lounge here and have tried to get people to come to bingo, darts or fish and chip nights but the response has not been great, I think that a lot of them are still worried about mixing with others a this time. What sort of work do you do? I have
been retired for the last 8 years so am a lot older than you I was
working in London in property management for the last 12years
before I retired. You never know the age of people who use this site
unless they mention it when they join. Well had better not keep you
from your work, so will finish off for now, have to do a bit of food
shopping this morning and luckily the weather looks bright and
sunny with a drop in the wind. So if you get time,it would be nice
to hear from you again, until then, take care, Terry.
Response from Jenna123 made on 8th Nov 2021 13:38:15 > @Safariman
Hi Terry,
Just a catch up during my lunch. Yes its a lovely bright day today. I am going to hang some washing out in a bit.
Yes maybe folk are still worried about meeting up indoors. That's the problem with colder months, limited towhat you can do outdoors. I do voluntary Litter Picking and meet others in the outdoors. We also have quite a lot of health walks etc near me.
I am in my 50s so still working. When I started work in my late teens early 20s I thought 50s was ancient! I started in the local Council and most people retired at 55. Im 52 so still "young" as we all are!!
I work for a local charity and work in admin.
My booster will be due as well, talking of the jabs..I need to look into it. I usually am 1 step ahead and book before they contact me.
Have a good afternoon.
Jenna
Response from Safariman made on 8th Nov 2021 16:03:03 > @Jenna123
Hi Jenna, thanks for the lunchtime catch up, have done my shopping
and had some cream of chicken soup for my lunch. I am 21 years
older than you but still fit and healthy at the moment and am looking
forward to next year when I can start to go on my travels again, it will
off to Cape Town again I expect in March or April. You seem to have a
nice social life and have friends to have nights out with.My pleasure
is in my traveling so when I get to my destination I enjoy a more
social life than I do here in Southampton. I have got my laundry in the washing machine, we are lucky as we have two washing machines and two tumble driers that are free to use so I get in as
soon as there is one free. Well had better go and see how it is getting on, so will finish off for now, enjoy your evening, and am here
if you still want to chat. Take care, Terry.
Response from Jenna123 made on 8th Nov 2021 18:41:26 > @Safariman
Hi Terry,
happy to chat so opened a "chat".
Response from Niceblokie made on 24th Jan 2022 13:22:47 > @Jenna123
Hi Jenna. I walk too, every day, I love it. Not massive distances, more like bitesize walks, always in the woods, so refreshing. Enjoy music weekends too.
Response from Jenna123 made on 24th Jan 2022 22:52:46 > @Niceblokie
Hi,
I walk as I love nature. I am still working so have to fit it in around that.
I also like the woods, trees, taking photos, never done a music concert weekend , but have done camping. But agree with one of your other comments that instaed of getting older "we are getting younger".

Hi, I'm 79, female and new to this site. My husband is about to turn 81 and is not in good health so I am basically a care giver for him. We recently moved to be closer to our daughter and grandsons so they can assist us if we need it and boy did we need it the first few months, things have settled down some recently though. I am pretty active especially for my age and if I would lose some pounds I probably would be even more active. Hopefully I will get inspired in 2022 to do that. You didn't mention where you were living but most places have public places you might meet people with same interests as you. I have gotten very much into gardening and enjoying my great grandchildren. I'm happy to chat with you any time.

Hi Sally, I have just moved to Queensland and I enjoy watching the very colourful birds here. Can you give me any tips on feeding them. I see Galahs, rainbow lorikeets, crimson rossellas, on my lawn. And of course magpies and butcher birds. I only know what they are called because I got a book from the library but it didn't say anything about feeding them. The birds are so much prettier than those in New Zealand.

Hi Marcie.
I live in east central Florida, USA about 45 minutes south of Cape Kennedy and Nasa. I live in the country and, though I am not a bird watcher, I do love the local birds. For many years, we had a pair of red tail hawks nesting in a pine tree out front. When the chicks hatched, I would often sit on the tail gate of my truck watching the antics.
One day, after the chicks had fledged, one of the young hawks caught a baby turtle but managed to accidentally drop it at my feet. I took the turtle back to the pond and released it. All the way from the house to the pond, the young hawk followed close behind me screaming for me to return his hard-fought meal. I just repeated the old adage, "Finders keepers. Losers weepers." He did not appreciate my humor.

Hi Chrissie1152, when you said that you would not hold your breath while you were waiting, do you mean for the council to come and do
the work or for someone to reply to your post? Hope it is the former
as here I am. I am 73 and live in Southampton, I live on my own in a
flat in a retirement building, I message a nice lady that lives up north,
she is younger than us, but we seem to be on the same wavelength.
If you would like to carry on chatting I will be pleased to hear from you.
Hope tha you have a good day, best wishes, Terry.

Hello again Christie, thank you for your welcome reply, I was sorry to
hear of your recent loss, luckily I have not had to go through that sad
situation. I hope that things get easier for as time goes by. I have never
been to Crewe so don't know what it is like, whilst I was in the Army I
was stationed in Chester for a while before being posted to Berlin. I
hope that our little chats will help you keep your spirits up. Do you
have children near by? They would be a great help to you if you do.
Not a bad day here today but it slowly getting colder as the days go
by, one of my sisters is coming down with her husband for the day on
Thursday so that will help pass the day. They live in Basingstoke so not
too far away. Glad that you have mastered this site at last, a lot of folk
seem to find it difficult to navigate, have to go out to have a medicine
review, so will catch up with you later if that's ok with you. Enjoy the
rest of the afternoon, take care, Terry.
