Slimming World is a UK company. Founded in 1969 by Margaret Miles-Bramwell, she is still actively involved in the company. Having experienced weight problems herself, she put her energy and vision into creating successful weight-loss programmes which have made the company successful.
The company was 40 years old in 2009. During that time over 5 million slimmers have attended slimming groups and lost an incredible 60 million pounds in weight. Today, more than 10,000 groups are held weekly throughout the UK and run by around 3,500 Slimming World Consultants.
