Winifred Road
Winifred Road
Passed your way
Just the other day,
Stopped and thought!
I heard you say…….
How you keeping
My old friend,
Have you missed me,
Because I’ve missed you!
Winifred Road I hear you,
Hear your beat of life,
Winifred Road I feel you,
Through the lonely night.
I’ve travelled some miles,
Since I left your old door,
Mixed with the rich,
And lived with the poor.
Forged friendships in far of places,
Colours and cultures,
Hundreds of faces.
Winifred Road I hear you,
Hear your beat of life,
Winifred Road I feel you,
Through the longest night.
I’ve seen Beauty, that beggars belief,
And cruelty by Men,
Who deserve no peace,
I’ve cried sorrowful tears,
Yet more of joy,
But ain’t that the way,
The Man remains a Boy.
Winifred Road I hear you,
Hear your beat of life,
Winifred Road I feel you,
Through the darkest night.
