Wild Verges
Wild Verges
Abundance is the wilderness packed full along the verges
Overflowing with fluttering wings and buzzing sound emerges
Walk along the edges where thistle heads sprout purple fingers
Seed heads sit amongst prickly leaves thistle down softly lingers
Nestled in the grasses waving and swaying happily on the breeze
Flashes of bright red delicate poppy petals attracting worker bees
Vibrant are the yellow and white heads standing out so proud
Not to be outdone the blue cornflower hardy shouting loud
How tranquil amongst the rambling flowers they bring a smile
When out walking along the verges stop and view them for a while
