Whisper
A comforting poem written by Mick Westwood blending the emotions of love and grief ….
Whisper
Whisper, “I love you” and hide a silver tear,
Keep their memory locked into your heart,
Remember what you dreamt of, what you recall each year,
Separated? – Yes – but not apart.
Held together by a bond, of Father, Son and Wife,
Sister, Brother, Daughter, Friend, chained by love through life,
Give them the love that’s blessed, give them the love that’s proud,
Give them all love deserving, give them the love unbowed.
To our parents, – we will keep you, in a special place we know,
Where in our hearts we hold you and we very often go,
To tell you all our secrets, to talk with you a while,
To worship and adore you, and remind us of your smile.
So whisper, as you leave them,
Tell them “God bless you”, too,
But do not sit and grieve them,
For you take, their hearts, with you.
