Where Are We Now
Where We Are Now
I had to stop watching and listening to the news
It’s rhetoric often intended to frighten or confuse
The three months of lockdown have begun to take its toll
The psychological impact of the pandemic globally is out of control
Frontliners battle on despite the daily pressures they endure
While positive results about the quarantine are conflicting and obscure
Public tension needed to be defused by the relaxation of some restrictions
Authorities led to do so by the courage of their convictions
Political racial and social unrest have ensued after the senseless killing of three lives
Who through brutality and malintent will never return to their families and wives
Peaceful demonstrations and protests against this abhorrent violence were organized
While thugs thieves and troublemakers burnt and looted right before our eyes
The fear of a second wave of this pandemic is very real
The results of people ignoring social distancing will be interesting to unveil
Until we get a viable weapon against Covid-19
I’ll continue staying safe in partial quarantine
