When I was a Boy
When I was a boy, and young at heart
I looked at the world, knowing not where to start
When I was a young man I had purpose in mind
To make something for me with a future of kind
When the snow was falling cold and deep
I remember the tingling in my hands and feet
As I walked the long road and slowly reaped
And felt the warmth when in bed as I sleep
As the rays of crimson sunlight
Fell down upon the land
I looked all around me
I saw the might, of Gods hand
The welcoming warmth was healing
Out from the coldness of the night
I put my hands together
And pressed them so very tight
The beauty that lay all around me
Caused my eyes to sparkle with glee
There is beauty in this land of ours
There for everyone to see.
Now I am an old man
With memories of the past
I remember all those days gone by
My first breath and my last
For all the love I’ve had in my life
For the joy and happiness too
There is one reason why I’m here today
And that’s because of you
For you my wife are a treasure to me
Of which no one else could replace
Our Love has be so bountiful
And filled with love and grace
I hope that in the years to come
You will stand here by my side
And give to me as you always have
Your love, that fills me full of pride
