What Would You Like For Christmas

There is so much more to Christmas than receiving presents.  For me the greatest joy is time spent with loved ones, time to relax and unwind.  How lucky are we if this is what we have to look forward to 💜❤️

What Would You Like For Christmas?

What I would like for Christmas is
A moments peace, a dose of cheer
To see contentment upon the faces
Of those I love and hold most dear

I’d like to hear the silence
On the streets, a welcome hush
As the world slows down a notch
For there will be no need to rush

To see the sparkle in the eyes
As families rejoice
In precious time spent together
With their smiles, their loudest voice

I’d like to take a moment
To honour those no longer here
Allow my thoughts to drift to times gone by
As I shed a silent tear

To marvel at the children
As they try out their brand-new bikes
The big kids feeling so grown up
And the little ones on first trikes

I’d like some time for quiet reflection
And I wish the same for you
May you cherish every moment
Before we start the year anew
