Weather …

Weather …

I once had a colourful garden  – but now  it’s a dismal mess
It’s bare and brown and empty  and I couldn’t like it less
Please don’t  think that I’m always complaining
But I’m asking today  —  will it ever stop raining?
The poor old fields are mud filled and boggy,
And my once green lawn is decidedly soggy.
I might get some ducks to swim in the hollow —
Or maybe some tadpoles with froglets to follow.
In the days of my youth — don’t know about you,
The days were all sunny, the sky a bright blue,
But I’m not  looking back
With ‘alas’ and ‘alack’
And gloomy old thoughts full of sorrow,
‘cos it’s bound to be better tomorrow!

P.S.

– – and it was – it was sunny and bright!!!
