First Love 

Many years have passed between us
Yet I feel you in my heart
No matter where my life goes
Inside me there’s a part

That holds your love so dearly
Even though you’re far away
Through the darkest depths of sorrow
Your love would guide my way

And in the warmth of summer
When your smile I could recall
I felt your love surround me
A shelter from the storms

Though I faced the world without you
You were never from my mind
First love is always deepest
The sweetest, richest kind

So Valentine I send you
Best wishes from my heart
My wish today has always been
The same right from the start

That love will always find you
And your life it will define
Forever and for always
You’ll be my Valentine
