Tight Nuts
Tight Nuts
I’ll try to explain this, as best as I can,
It’s not easy to say this, for this ageing old man,
You might think that I am a silly old fool,
‘But, – I’ve got tight nuts and a rusty old tool.’
I know it’s my fault and I’ve shed a few tears,
I neglected it so, didn`t use it for years,
I look at them now, so forgotten, so cruel,
‘Cause, – I’ve got tight nuts and a rusty old tool’.
I can hear them now creaking, so tight, so unused,
And the one’s slightly leaking, ’cause it’s been abused’,
I used it a lot once, when I was at school,
But, – ‘I’ve got tight nuts and a rusty old tool’.
I just tried to pull it, but it wouldn’t give way,
And I tried to loosen them both yesterday,
It’s a battle I can’t win, an ill fought out duel,
Cause, – ‘I’ve got tight nuts and a rusty old tool’.
I know they never will loosen themself,
So I reach for the stuff that is up on the shelf,
I’ll give them a squirt, of that stuff in the can,
Then, no more ‘tight nuts’, for this ageing old man.
Me tool’s also working it goes in and out,
I’ve solved this great problem, of that there’s no doubt,
They’re all sleek and smooth now, I look at them and drool,
See!, – ‘no more tight nuts and a rusty old tool’.
‘My eternal gratitude to: – ‘WD40’.
( I’ll get me cap! )
