Thunder Storms
Thunder Storms
Waiting for the thunder,
As lightning flashes across the sky,
And then the almighty roar,
As if it’s the God’s battle cry.
Dark is the sky,
Heavy are the clouds,
As the storm draws closer,
The thunder’s getting loud.
Rain fulling like gun fire,
As it drills into the ground,
Struggling to see out the window,
As the rain continues to pound.
An almighty flash,
As fork lightning streaks the air,
And as my anxiety rises,
I offer a little prayer.
With a boom like a canon,
And an earth shattering flash,
I look for somewhere safe,
And under the stairs I dash.
Will it destroy the house?
Will it all wash away?
As the rain beats down,
From the clouds of ashen grey.
Lightning strikes a tree,
And it bursts into fire,
The storm turns into a super cell,
As the clouds reach higher and higher.
The day begins to brighten,
As the storm begins to pass,
But the rain still lashes the windows,
Threatening to smash the glass.
The rain begins to ease,
As the storm moves away,
The air smells so fresh,
And is as clean as a brand new day.
