Through The Comfort of Others

A poem for World Mental Health Day and for any other day that anybody just needs a pick me up:

Through The Comfort of Others

If your get up and go has got up and gone
The days feel so empty, the nights way too long
It’s time to dig deep
Scream it out, have a weep
It’s OK to falter, heal your wounds, let them seep

We all lose our way now and then on life’s path
We may be crying inside, but we smile, and we laugh
It’s OK to let go
Release your tears, let them flow
Then pick up the pieces, and onwards you go

When each day’s a struggle and your mind’s filled with dread
You feel hopeless and lost as your rise from your bed
Be kind to yourself
Calm your fears, watch your health
Restore peace to your heart, your ultimate wealth

If you feel all alone at this difficult time
Just let others know, please send them a sign
It’s OK to cry
Share your woes, wonder why
Through the comfort of others
May your tears quickly dry

I absolutely love writing poems. Enjoying my garden and my dogs. I used to be an Age UK Befriender, which I would thoroughly recommend to anybody. So rewarding
