Their Love Shone Bright

For all of us who are lucky to be in this situation, how lucky are we.  Never take a second for granted. ❤️💜

Their Love Shone Bright

I watched an old couple as they sauntered on past
Their bodies so close, with hands tightly clasped
The toll from the years clearly etched on their faces
Yet they carry themselves with majestical graces

Two lives lived well is what I could see
No other place would they rather be
Than walking this journey, together entwined
A love so pure, so rare to find

The closeness they’d formed in their twilight years
Shone out from their faces, it brought me to tears
Each safe in the comfort of being together
If only this moment could last forever

I imagined the obstacles they’d faced on life’s path
How the joy of their unity had helped them to laugh
In the face of adversity, a joint strength they shared
Their love for each other, oh gosh how they’ve cared

The years rush on past but their love, still so strong
Together forever they truly belong
If only this moment could be frozen in time
A pleasure to see, it is simply divine
