The price of love
The price of love
Love is given freely,
it gets inside your heart.
It doesn’t require payment
until the day you part.
Those cherished little memories,
the sweetness of a kiss.
The hugs and reassurance
are all the things we miss.
It all is finely balanced
and the stronger it may be,
defines the final balance
pain deeper than the sea.
So let your love consume you,
take pleasure in each breath.
Until the final curtain,
the searing pain of death.
If you accept it freely
it will wrap you in it’s glow.
So when you have to leave love
it will find a place to go.
For grief will show no mercy
it will take up your tomorrow,
and drown you in a whirlpool
full of loss and sorrow.
But your love will last forever,
it will never go away.
The times you had together
are in your heart to stay.
And you must keep on going,
keeping walking through the storm.
And hold on to those memories
and let them keep you warm.
And when you’re feeling lonely,
and you’re feeling left behind.
Remember how he loved you
and to yourself be kind.
