The perfect crime
The window was wide open, I was tempted to look in
On a clean white saucer, lay a fish without its skin
It did look very lonely, I do not like to waste
So I put my furry head in, thought I’d have a little taste
I am very, very crafty, in stealth I never fail
Soon had it within my grasp, I caught it by the tail
Intention was, just have a lick,
Scamper off, be very quick
But I could not replace it, so they would never know
In truth it looked bedraggled, my paw handling did show
So I gobbled it all up, left not a trace in sight
Then with a twitching of my tail, disappeared into the night
