The Little Things
Enjoy the little things in life – they’re the big things really…
The Little Things
It’s the little things
That matter really
Things not forced
But given freely
A gentle touch
A warming smile
The laughter of
A carefree child
The golden sunlight
The silver moon
The dawn from which
A new day looms
Those gentle strolls
Took hand in hand
Across the seasons
Changing land
Through dewy fields
Or crunching snow
Past autumn leaves’
Flamboyant show
Those lazy hours
In idle bliss
Where every chore
Just goes amiss
The steamy mugs
With friendly chatter
When nothing else
Seems to matter
The family visit
With laughter bright
And gentle hugs
To make things right
‘Cos as we know
Life’s not forever
We, one day, fade
Into the never
So, enjoy the subtle
little things
It’ll help us earn
Our little wings
