The Croissant
The Croissant
A buttery flaky crispness, my favourite french confection.
Oozing almond loveliness, warming to perfection.
“I’ve popped two in the oven, just be careful, they get hot!
Keep your eyes on them Delaney, they’re the last ones that I’ve got.”
I swiftly take a shower and quickly dress with haste
Sweet anticipation of my best-loved breakfast taste.
Okay, so where’ve you put it ??? I confront him, hands on hips.
He sits there looking sheepish, licking sugar off his lips.
So I’m munching on some dry toast, suppressing simmering hate.
Even though I love him dearly, I’ll get my own back, just you wait!
