Sunset – sunrise

Sunset – sunrise

We’ve watched the sun set over mountains
We’ve watched it set over the seas
We’ve seen it go down over vineyards
Over deserts from green oasises

Early in the morning we’ve watched the sun rise
At Christmas and New Year and in summer’s hot highs
From rooves in Arizona to the high Pyranees
From the tops of great buildings in the heat and the breeze

From a mountainous coast road in the Spanish deep south
In hot sweaty summers in the Yangtze’s wide mouth
From a hotel’s green garden in the quiet Isle of Wight
The colours wherever, so glorious and bright
