Seagull’s view of lockdown!

I am a seagull.

This lockdown is causing me great suffering. My food source has dwindled to nearly nothing. The local populace are well aware of my tactics, they protect their snacks and I am starving. I am reduced to eating grubs and worms which is no substitute for tourist food. I have almost been reduced to begging, I have become semi domesticated and an urban terrorist.

Apparently it would appear all is not lost. I have heard there may be a large influx of visitors from next weekend. Hopefully they will wander the coastal towns, harbours or sit on the beaches with their food and drink. I will be watching and waiting. I shall swoop from the sky and snatch, from your hands, that succulent warm pasty, that you queued ages for. I shall steal your chips or ice cream. I shall plunder your picnic basket. You may scream and curse but you can do nothing. I am protected.

I look forward to your return. The businesses need you I need you BUT remember to follow the rule and social distance – it makes it so much easier for me. Welcome back! I am watching!
