Santa’s Knee
Santa’s Knee
When I first sat on Santa’s knee,
I was very very young.
I remember looking up at him,
And the cat had got my tongue.
He had a very hairy face,
With whiskers, white as snow.
He wore a cap with a Pom Pom on,
And a red suit top to toe.
What would you like for Christmas,
He softly asked of me.
When I ride the sky on Christmas Eve,
Shall I leave presents by your tree?
I’d love to visit him again,
Now I’m sixty odd years on.
And when he asks me what I’d like..I’d say,
Save the world..before it’s gone.
Save all the lovely creatures,
In the jungle and the sea.
Save all the lovely children,
So they can sit on Santa’s knee.
Spread love and understanding,
To each and every land.
And to those who really struggle,
Lend a helping hand.
Find cures for all diseases,
That bring heartbreak to our lives,
Give everyone someone to love,
When Christmas Day arrives.
I’m sure that Father Christmas,
If indeed he does exist.
Would fly his sleigh around the world,
And help me with my list.
But just in case he doesn’t,
Or perhaps loses his way.
Let’s all pull together,
Like the reindeer on his sleigh.
Every person matters,
As do creatures great or small.
So let’s all send a wish to Santa,
And ask his help to save it all.
Happy Christmas everyone!
