Remembering Patrick
Remembering Patrick ….
Wedding Anniversary
Fifty three years ago, we went and tied the knot
Didn’t have much money, enjoyed what we had got
Now the world’s gone mad, as I never thought I’d say
I am quite relieved, you are not with me today
You loved the hills and valleys, roamed over hill and dale
If ordered to stay in the house, your happiness would fail
Yes you would conform to rules, not cause anybody harm
Being kind to others, was all part of your charm
Though I know I couldn’t stand it and I would be enraged
As you stamped round and round the house, like a tiger that was caged
You thought that DIY meant don’t involve yourself
You really had no interest, in putting up a shelf
At the Horticultural Show, you’d never win a cup
Cos when you were laying turf I had to remind you ‘…..green side up’
So I’m happy you’re not trapped, content that you are free
But as soon as sanity returns, will wish you were back with me
