Quarantine

It’s been a few weeks now staying safe at home
Binge watching Netflix or penning a poignant poem
Taking it easy wearing PJs all the time
Enjoying Friday night appys with a glass of wine

Thankful to have my hubby taking care of me
appreciating everything he does selflessly
Making tasty meals getting groceries too
To be fair a few times I’ve actually made homemade soup and some Irish stew

Trying not to stress about what’s been going on
Checking out the Dow Jones is definitely wrong
Preferring to stay in touch with friends and family
Making sure they’re all fine and keeping healthy

Don’t have the need to dust as often as before
As all visitors are prohibited to cross our door
Gazing out the window at more freshly fallen snow
Wondering when this winter weather will finally go

As we approach Easter heralding spring and a fresh start
Let’s pray for relief from this virus with positive thoughts in our heart
Continuing to applaud ourselves for staying home in quarantine
Recognizing the frontline heroes and everyone working towards a viable antiviral vaccine
