Poem To A Virus

Poem to a virusĀ

I will not touch you so do not touch me
You are the enemy I cannot see,
How dare you invade my space,
Putting a frown upon my face,

I wear protective gloves and a mask,
Please stay away is all I ask,
Your choice is random woman or man,
Little Johnny or my nan,

You do not care coloured or white,
Around the world you spread the blight,
Some succumb way too soon,
Does it matter that we’ve been to the moon,

It is a pandemic it is everywhere
I pray Lord please remove this nightmare
Please pass me by do not give me a kiss
To go out without fear would be bliss

I have left work due to chronic health problems. I used to love walking especially along the coast on holiday, arthritis has stopped me doing that. I live on my own, I used to have two rescue cats but due to Asthma they have had to be rehomed. I enjoy reading and I am interested in photography and geology/Paleontology especially micro fossils. I am really proud to have discovered two new species. When you have problems you discover who are your true friends. It is so easy to get depressed when you have difficulty in getting out and about. Now I have been inspired to write poetry.
