Please Don’t Do This On Your Own

I have written this poem for Stress Awareness Month as I am sure many of us have been affected by stress during our lives, I for one have definitely been here.

If this is you, please know you are not alone and that there is help out there. Keep talking guys.

Please Don’t Do This On Your Own

Stress, now that’s a word I’m sure
That most of us have heard
An unseen, intense emotion
Whose parameters are blurred

It’s hidden deep inside of us
Both menacing and daring
Try as you will to hide your pain
Its side effects are glaring

The trigger points, so varied
As turmoil builds inside your mind
A reminder, lest we should forget
It’s better always to be kind

With sleepless nights, your weight affected
And you’re all churned up inside
To face the day, emotions masked
As your tears you try to hide

If this resonates with you my friend
Please don’t do this on your own
Step back, speak out, take time to heal
And just know you’re not alone.
