Person of Importance

The writers topic was ‘person of importance ‘so I thought I’d do misheard word as in an old joke, actually the joke was on me ….it should have been ‘person of interest’ .

Person of Importance

They’d been married quite a while, and although they’d had fun tryin’
Friends started giving  nods and winks, just what were they implyin’
As time was cracking on, their ages getting greater
Wife made an appointment, felt it couldn’t wait till later

He sat in private cubicle, a glossy mag to read.
It was supposed to help him, to do required deed
After quite a while, he succeeded in his task,
Managing to fill, a great big thermos flask

Maybe husband didn’t listen, or was deaf and didn’t tell
But when he heard the end results his head began to swell
At the final consultation, the outcome made him glad
Just heard he was important, missed he couldn’t be a dad.
