Party Politics 2017

Just in case you’ve forgotten, there is General Election looming. Hope you enjoy…

Party Politics

I’m in a total quandary as to how I ought to vote.
Do I follow all the mainstream spiel or let my ballot float?
There’s a plethora there to choose from blue right round to green.
Yellow could be your best friend or are they now ‘has-beens’?

Then, of course there’s all the wings and all the wets as well.
Left of centre has me stumped. Does Jeremy ring a bell?
Has UKIP really gone to pot? Have they blown their only chance?
The Unionists just stick around and Plaid Cymru takes their stance.

Does Scotland want to stray away, an independent state ?
To see what Mrs Sturgeon does, we’ll have a five week wait.
The Greens will want the fog to clear, to see a climate change.
They think the world’s a toxic mess by those who are deranged.

Independents stand for what is right, but we need to know what is wrong.
The Monster Raving Loonies say goodbye, farewell, so long!
Brexit is the latest craze, a deal or walk away,
Donald Tusk has got the hump and Brussels is dismayed.

Meanwhile where’s dear old Nigel? Perhaps he’s down the pub,
or hanging on to Donald’s tails to join his special club.
Gaffs and indiscretions, abundant and profuse,
when things are dull and news is dry, they let old Boris loose.

Will the Russians have a tamper with the emails of the great?
Misinformation or fake news, we’ll need to get it straight.
Insults, jibes and arguments now fill our TV screens,
like children in the playground. I feel I want to scream!

Whether it’s in or out, or left or right, nothing seems to fit.
I’m heading to a darkened room, as my head’s about to split!!!
