Our Queen
Our Queen
That noble, royal familiar face
The regal look, the air of grace.
The constant force, just always there
Her image is just everywhere.
We see her when we pay our bills
As coins are stacked up in the tills,
Her face is there on stamps and notes
Her name on trains and planes and boats.
She was unique, you must agree
Part of our fabric, our Queen bee
She lived through wars and hurt and pain
But she was always born to reign.
And now we must show her respect
As we look back, we can reflect
She was a Mum, a Gran and friend
She served her country to the end.
The history books will tell her tale
As memories fade and we grow frail,
We’ll find it hard to ever replace
That noble, royal familiar face.
