Our Corner Shop

Our Corner Shop

I really miss our corner shop,
On our doorstep, skip and hop.
A must for things that you forgot,
It really makes me very cross,

I miss those little paper bags,
Loose potatoes in their sacks,
Fresh fruit, and veg out on display,
Just pick your own happy days,

Our kids they loved to choose their sweets,
Into the bag they placed their treats.
The shopkeeper who knew your name,
Thank you Mary call again.

Even now our High Street stores,
Are disappearing by the score,
As shopping changes more and more,
Our corner shop it is no more,

We shop online and not in-store,
Then it’s delivered to our door.
