The old tin bath
The old tin bath
The old tin bath
In front of the fire
Every Sunday night
A bath I require.
One at a time
It won’t take two
I’m going first
Not as dirty as you.
A brown see through soap
With quite a strong smell
It’s good for your skin
Though I never could tell.
That medicated shampoo,
No dandruff here
But when it went in your eye’s
A quick rub and a tear.
No ducks to play with
My best doll, bathed with me
She soaked up the water
And then she did a wee.
My brother lined up his soldier’s
All ready to attack
Tanks are fast approaching
Time to leave the bath.
After his bath
Carried out by two
It must have been heavy
My mum’s fingers turned blue.
It didn’t have handles
So it stood in the yard
No one would take it
The dog stood guard.
So when your pulling the plug
And cleaning the bath
Think yourself lucky
It’s not a tin bath.
