Ode to a Young Lady
Ode to a Young Lady, (written by an old man)
My day just seems so full of thoughts of you,
Each minute quickly passes, there you are.
Deepest thoughts and feelings of great warmth,
Surpass my other daily thoughts by far.
I switch, to some favourite programme on TV,
Then suddenly, a vision of your face.
I am so very smitten by you now,
With your beauty, your elegance, your grace.
Your lovely face framed sweetly, by dark hair,
With eyes that issue promise of such love.
Of all the women I have ever met,
I cannot help but feel you’re high above.
You stole my heart with one extended glance,
Your smile produced an ardour in my heart.
If only I could be your age again,
I’d so make sure that we would never part.
