There were never such devoted sisters…

The Chief Bridesmaid’s Tale

That bright sunny day, the seventh of May,
Is etched in my mind for all time.
As I sit here and dwell, I still hear the church bell,
The portent to my ‘heinous crime’.

We walked down the aisle, everyone wreathed in smiles,
I followed the bride and our father.
When we reached the pulpit, I just could not  help it,
And giggled at this daft palaver.

When the rev spake those words, (that are simply absurd),
About who might make some protestation ,
To this fusion of hearts – ’til death do they part’
I held up my hand in elation.

“This is not what it seems, this fairy tale dream,
Because I am the sister Joe fancies.
He said so last night, well it was just getting light.
As I put on my frilly pink panties”…

I've been married to Rob for 45 years, we have two daughters, five wonderful granddaughters and two naughty dogs. I have lots of interests, I love crocheting, knitting and I've just started a rag-rug! My passion though is writing and I'm very proud to say that I've self-published 2 books, 'Doggie Deliberations' is all about my dog's antics, and '...then I'll begin', is an anthology my jottings. I'm looking forward to being a Silver Surfer and I will enjoy reading other Surfers' writing as well as sending in my own scribbles!
