My Little Lazy Bones
This very sweet poem was written by Tracey Curtis about a little pet hamster …
My Little Lazy Bones
My hamsters, name is Lazy Bones
He’s rather fat and dumpy
He strolls around his cage all day
And he can be rather grumpy
Tilts back his tiny head
Opens up his mouth to yawn
Then he goes back to his bedHe ruffles up his bedding
He spits some out his door
Comes out from his house again
And then he yawns some moreHe walks on over to his wheel
He does this every day
He takes one look, turns around
And then he walks away
Then he’s off to take a look
Just what he has to eat
He munches on a bit of food
Held tightly in his feet
Then he has a little stretch
Now that he has been fed
One more look at his wheel
Then he’s off to bed
Here he comes again
Around his cage he roams
Another yawn, one more stretch
He’s such a Lazy bones
He’s looking though the cage at me
And his eyes are just so bright
With his little nose a twitching
And his whiskers oh so white
Now he tries his cardboard tube
In there he likes to hide
Then he gives a shuffle
And he’s out the other side
He’s raking up the sawdust
Then he’s scratching on his head
Then he give one more yawn
And now he’s back in bed
My little Lazy Bones….
