Mr Arthritis
Mr Arthritis
Charlie’s dark eyes looking at me
My first walk, I need to go
But I don’t know how to tell you
At the moment you’re walking too slow.
Your limp is drawing attention
People want to know what you’ve done
Mr Arthritis who is he anyway
Would he take me out for a run.
I go up to take a shower
Charlie right by my side
He waits till I’m totally naked
He runs off with my kneebrace to hide.
My husband came back with my kneebrace
Black as black could be
He’d buried it under the rose bush
In hope we wouldn’t see.
How amĀ I supposed to run and with you limping
Who will throw the ball, for me to retrieve
Would a stick make you go abit faster
There is some buried under the leaves.
Looks like I’m not going with you this time
Dad’s got his coat, with a few of my treats.
Put on some of that ointment
Get on the sofa and put up your feet.
And if that Mr Arthritus should call
Tell him I’ll walk with him next time
I know if he brings lots of treats
We’re going to get along just fine.
Here I am back from my walk now
I’ll just rub my face on your new settee
Tred mud on your nice clean carpet
One more walk I’ll be having my tea.
Charlie’s dark eyes looking at me
Yes I believe that dogs can talk
I’ll have a word with that Mr Arthritis
To see when we can take our next walk.
