Make This Your Year

A different style New Year’s Poem, it’s not all about making resolutions.❤️💜

Make This Your Year

Let’s scrap the New Year’s resolutions
The promises to do better
That we feel compelled to make
Instead, let’s be at one with who and how we are
And embrace whatever road we take

Make this year a time for you, to sometimes put you first
A year to thrive, not just survive
Maybe that job that’s driving you mad, making you sad
Can be kicked into touch
Don’t feel it can’t be done, you’re not good enough
The roads too tough
Recognise you deserve it very much

Believe in yourself, follow your dreams
Don’t waste time envying others
It’s not always as it seems

Spend time with those who feed your soul
Make you smile
And sometimes go that extra mile for
A lonely person you may see
Whom in your place would rather be

Cherish those boring, tedious, quiet days
When nothing much happens
Try to live in the moment, not the where and when
For, when life gets tough, yes it can get quite rough
You will wish you could go back to then

Wishing each and every one of you
A Happy New Year
May your days be filled with laughter and light
Look up from your phones and
Take in all that life has got to offer
May your futures be happy and bright
