Magical Bonfire Night
Here is a very topical poem written by Tracey Curtis about Bonfire Night!
MAGICAL BONFIRE NIGHT….
Once again, it’s that time of year,
The fifth of November, is finally here.
We’ve built our fire, and made a guy,
It’s a little sad, he has to fry.
Mum’s been busy, the buffet done,
We invited the neighbors, to join the fun.
Out comes dad, with his box of tricks,
Lots of fireworks, and lighter sticks.
He lights the fire, we all stand round,
Orange flames, and a crackling sound.
It doesn’t take long, to feel the heat,
I love this night, it’s really neat.
It’s half past seven, the firework show,
He lights two rockets, and off they go.
“Whoosh”, straight up, then out of sight,
A big flash, bang, with a bright green light.
Here comes more, lights everywhere,
A cloud of smoke, fills the air.
Yellows and blues, bright as the sun,
A fountain of color, for everyone.
Catherine wheels, spinning round,
Held there by a pin.
The cracker jacks, are really loud,
My mum, jumps out her skin.
But soon, it is all over,
Two hours seemed to fly.
Everyone, enjoyed themselves,
Except for poor old guy.
Everything, has a ending,
But what a sheer delight.
I’m glad you came to join us,
On our… MAGICAL BONFIRE NIGHT…..
