Lockdown!
Lockdown!
Blimey – this thing really happened!
They said ‘Lockdown! And no going out
Whilst every ran around moaning,
I let a huge sigh, slowly out.
‘It’s so hard in lockdown’ they cried
As they queued silently hoping for bread
I read about all these desperate people
On my phone as I laid in my bed.
You see lockdown for me has been constant,
Since my ailments forced me to stay home
I can’t say that I’ve missed any neighbours or friends (is that bad?)
As I spend every weekday alone.
It’s not hard for me to stay in, behind my double-locked door,
I’m used to it all – every day
Watching the world flying past by my window
As I sit at home living life my own way.
The birds in my garden are singing,
Screeching at me ‘it’s time for our feed!’
The radios humming on low
As I reach for the worms and birdseed.
For others, the world was a spinning
And for many, it came to a stop
Some whining about, not being allowed to go out,
Only for essentials to the local shop.
Life for us all has got slower
I like this ‘not rushing about,’
So for me the lockdowns quite normal
As I know I still won’t be going out.
Welcome to my ordinary life,
That is normal for me every week
Just sitting at home, with no trouble or strife
I can do just whatever I please!
